Our Fire Suppression System Servicing Process
Thanks to more than 20 years of experience helping commercial businesses meet a wide range of health and safety standards, we’ve honed in on the perfect method of delivering our services. From carrying out our services at a time that won’t impact the running of your business to taking all necessary steps to make sure your fire system is in good working order, our method has been carefully thought out down to the tiniest of details.
The process begins with you getting in contact with us to let us know a bit about your fire system, your building, and your business. From there, we’ll arrange to come out and carry out a detailed survey of your building and fire system at a time that suits you.
Once we’ve carried out this survey, we’ll be able to design a site-specific suppression system for you and your kitchen
We’ll present this plan to you, before finding a suitable time for us to come back and carry out our service.
Our highly qualified and reliable team will then come out and carry out our service as planned. This will include a close visual inspection of your sprinklers, a flow test, and taking pressure readings.
After we’ve carried out our servicing, we’ll give you all the necessary documentation for your records, which will include an inventory of your sprinklers, test results, and any maintenance that we carried out.
We’ll also provide you with any certifications you may need to show evidence that you’ve met all BS9999, BS9251 and Regulatory Reform Order 2005 standards.
Our service starts with you getting in touch with us to let us know about your fire system and building before we arrange a convenient time to come out and carry out a more detailed survey.
After we’ve carried out our survey, we’ll talk you through how we plan to deliver our service, before agreeing on a time for us to return at a time that works for your business.
Our qualified and carefully chosen team will come back at the agreed time to inspect and service your fire sprinklers and dampers as planned, ensuring that all your systems meet industry standards and are in good working order.
Finally, we’ll schedule a follow-up appointment where we’ll provide you with your certificate of testing. We’ll also talk you through the service we carried out and highlight anything about your fire system that you need to be aware of.
Benefits of Regular Fire Sprinkler Servicing
Maintaining your sprinkler system not only only ensures that businesses meet regulations and comply with legal requirements; it also offers a host of other benefits to your business.
Having a good fire system in place protects your property, reducing the risk of serious damage in the event of a fire and the possibility of emergency repair costs. On top of that, it provides an added layer of protection for your employees and your customers, all of which gives much needed peace of mind.
What’s more, knowing that you have an effective fire system in place that’s been tested and shown to be in good working order can give insurance providers peace of mind too, and perhaps even lead to cheaper insurance for you.
All of these are reasons why it’s important to not only have fire sprinklers in place, but to carry out regular maintenance that ensures they’ll be effective when they’re needed.
Commercial Sprinkler Maintenance Guidelines
Compliance & Certification
As a business, you have a legal responsibility to take the necessary steps to keep your staff and your customers safe. One aspect of this is ensuring you’ve got a good fire system in place, including sprinklers.
The exact requirements you need to meet will vary depending on the size of your building and the nature of your business, but in every case, you’ll have to make sure that you maintain your sprinklers.
A regular sprinkler maintenance service not only gives you peace of mind, it also helps you comply with a range of legal requirements and codes, such as:
-
NFPA standards
-
BS9251 regulations
-
EN 16282-7 Regulations
-
BS EN 12845 requirements
-
Regulatory Reform Order 2005 standards
-
Local regulations for your area
Failure to meet any of these could result in fines, closure, and in the event of a fire, damage to your property and injury to your staff and customers.
Our Ansul systems protect countless commercial restaurants and are now specified as an insurance requirement in the UK.

What our clients say
FAQS
While some aspects of our service such as visual inspections will be consistent throughout, how we clean and test your sprinklers may vary depending on the system you have. For example, if you have a wet pipe system, we’ll check that your water supply is functioning and unobstructed, whereas if you have a dry pipe system, we’ll test the air pressure in your system. We'll be able to talk you through the specific process of maintaining your system after we’ve carried out our initial survey.
The specifics will depend on the size of your property and type of business you run. Some requirements you can meet yourself, such as by carrying out and documenting weekly checks on your system’s valves and pressure systems. Alternatively, we can do this for you. We can also carry out the required full inspection each year. We’re fully qualified to carry out these inspections and deliver all necessary certifications.
First, we’d carry out a thorough inspection to identify which areas have failed, and why, before determining if this failure poses an immediate risk to safety. Whenever possible, we’ll fix the problem ourselves and carry out any necessary emergency repairs, but if the problem is something more technical such as a lack of air pressure, we may need to call in a specialist. We’ll then make sure that you have a full report of the problem and the steps taken to rectify it.
We’re well-equipped to maintain any fire system, regardless of where it is. Whether it’s by ladder, scissor lift, boom lifts, or aerial work platforms, we’ll discuss any necessary steps we may need to take upon carrying out the survey of your system.
The duration can depend on several factors, such as the size of your property, how accessible the system is, and whether or not we encounter any problems. Typically, you can expect the service to last around 45 minutes, but this could be longer. Regardless of how long it takes, we’ll be sure to schedule in our servicing at a time that won’t affect the running of your business, be it after you’ve closed for the day, on a bank holiday, or any other time that works for you.
